• Caring guide for your jewellery

Caring for your jewellery may sound like a hard job but with these few guidelines you will understand how simple it is.

We want to divide this guide to two parts; prevention & cleaning.

Prevention:

The easiest thing to do when cleaning you jewellery is to not get it ‘dirty’ in the first place. Whilst it may sound a bit like a cliché let us explain a bit more.

You love your jewellery and want to wear it all the time, alas we recommend you give it a ‘rest’ and take it off:

- During an intense workout

- On the beach, at the sauna or Turkish bath or in any situation that could lead to intense thermal shocks

- When performing heavy-duty household tasks that may cause it to come into contact with corrosive products.

- When gardening or carrying out DIY projects

We know this list may seem like a lot to you but think about it this way – would you wear your luxurious dinner gown when constructing your Ikea furniture? or use your Chanel handbag as a gym bag?

We would also highly recommend that you apply all of your beauty products, such as perfume, hairspray, lotions and deodorant before putting on your jewellery.

Lastly, it is better to store your piece in its original Feder case to protect it from shocks or scratches. We advise against storing several pieces of jewellery in the same case as they could scratch one another.

Cleaning:

To clean your jewellery, use the special cleaning liquid provided by us in your after-care kit that came with your jewellery. Simply soak it in a mixture of warm water and the liquid (use the instructions on the jar for further assistance) for 10-15 minutes and after use the brush to brush all surfaces and insides of the piece. Rinse with water, dry softly with the cleaning cloth provided in the kit.

For those who are reading this and do not have our jewellery cleaning kit try using dish washing soap with warm water instead, brush with an old toothbrush and use soft cotton towel to mimic the process.
